The Roughriders have started crossing off names from their list of potential free agents. The first to re-sign with the team is veteran linebacker Mike McCullough.

Over the last eight years, the Rider veteran has provided solid depth for the green and white at linebacker and has become one of the team captains.

After back to back Grey Cup appearances and a win in 2007, McCullough foresees more success in Saskatchewan.

“We've been taking strides the last couple of years and obviously getting as far as we did (in 2009 and 2010), we still have some unfinished business so I think we have the nucleus back that we want and we can kind of continue on with what we started in '07 and get another ring, hopefully.”

Last season, McCullough played in all 18 games and piled up 29 tackles, seven special-team tackles, four sacks and three pass knockdowns.
