Carlton girls win Moose Jaw Invitational

The Carlton Crusaders senior girls basketball team won the prestigious Moose Jaw Invitational Basketball Tournament over the weekend.
The Crusaders beat Weyburn in their first game 59- 30 with Chenele Fisher leading the scoring with 24 points and being named game MVP.
Game two was a team effort with every Crusader scoring a basket, in a 74-34 win over Estevan.
The girls defeated fourth ranked Humboldt in the semifinals outscoring the Mohawks 53- 45. Kristin Czychowski was named game MVP. She scored a key basket, made two key foul shots and a steal in the final minutes to seal the victory.
The Crusaders met host Moose Jaw Peacock in the final. The Crusaders surrendered an early lead but stormed back to win 62-55.
Racquel Marshall was named to the tournament all star team, and Dalyce Emmerson was named tournament MVP.
Next action for the Crusaders is this Thursday in the Saskatoon at the St. Joseph Guardians Tournament.
