It's a $240 million dollar decision for Saskatchewan.

Despite being turned down on its bid to buy Potashcorp, BHP Billiton is moving into the next phase towards what would be the world's largest potash mine.

It's beginning what it calls 'the feasibility study stage' of the massive project near Jansen.

According to a news release Wednesday, BHP has submitted an environmental impact statement and it's set aside $240 million dollars for drilling and preparing the ground for sinking shafts.
