Murder charges laid after Northern Saskatchewan fire

A body was found in Canoe Narrows on Thursday after emergency crews responded to a house fire.

Investigation has shown that this death was not an accident.

The body belonged to 73-year-old James Durocher.

RCMP determined foul play was involved and have since charged a 17-year-old male with second-degree murder.

The teen has been remanded into custody until his first court date on Tuesday.

RCMP are not saying how Durocher died, only that his body was discovered after the fire was brought under control.
