Manitoba's Jeff Stoughton is alone on top at 2 and 0 after day one of the Tim Hortons Brier.
Stoughton opened with a 10-4 victory over B.C., and followed with a 9-4 win over New Brunswick's James Gratton.
The New Brunswick skip opened the Canadian men's curling championship by upsetting Ontario's Glenn Howard 5-4.
Alberta's Kevin Martin, who is seeking a record fifth Brier championship as a skip, is 1 and 0 along with Saskatchewan, Quebec, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
