Provincial budget speculation grows
In just a week we will know the details of Saskatchewan's provincial budget, but will it be a repeat of last year, when the buzzword was restraint?
News Talk Radio has learned that most ministries were told to hold the line, with the health portfolio being one of a few that had spending increases capped at three per cent.
Health Minister Don McMorris isn't giving much away, saying he wanted to find efficiencies, but perhaps not as aggressively as last year. And that is evident in recent spending announcements.
“You know a lot of the spending we see at the end of the fiscal year is going to capital repairs, equipment and the surgical care initiative,” McMorris said. He wouldn't say anything more.
