The man who Prince Albert police allege had $12,000 worth of crystal meth in his car when he was arrested last month said he plans to fight the charges laid against him.

On Thursday, Darcy Laliberte, 45, was present in Prince Albert Provincial Court to say he’ll be looking for a lawyer to speak to his charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He was arrested on March 6 during a traffic stop by members of Prince Albert Integrated Street Enforcement Team. Police seized 61.3 grams of methamphetamine from the vehicle he was driving, according to a news release.

Laliberte, who is from Buffalo Narrows, was released on a recognizance before his Thursday court date.
