Paramedics make hotel baby delivery

A unique weekend call to a hotel for Parkland Ambulance paramedics led to their first newborn delivery of a newborn this year.

The baby girl was born when her mother went into labour at a hotel in the city on Sunday morning.

Paramedics were called out and the baby girl came out healthy and happy at six pounds, five ounces.

The baby girls is the sixth child to join her family, and both baby and mother are healthy and safe at Victoria Hospital.

In addition to the excitement of delivering a baby, paramedics has a busy weekend.

On Friday around 8 p.m. paramedics responded to a single-vehicle accident about 20 kilometres outside the city.

An 18-year-old man was injured and taken to Victoria Hospital to have his minor injuries treated.

Disguised robbery

Prince Albert Police responded to a call about banging noises coming from a home in the East Flat area on Saturday morning.

When police arrived they caught two men leaving the home, who attempted to run from police.

After a short chase the men were caught and arrested, and police then discovered the owner of the home inside and injured.

He had been allegedly assaulted and robbed by the two men, and was taken to Victoria Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The two men will make a court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday morning.

Along with theft, and break and enter charges they face a charge of using a disguise with intent to commit a criminal offence.
