June 14, St. Therese of the Little Flower Shrine – The 91st annual pilgrimage in honor of St. Theresa of the Little Flower will be held on June 14, 2015 in Wakaw, SK.  Registration begins at 9:00am with the Way of the Cross at 9:15.  Bishop Albert Thévenot, M. June 21, Truth and Reconciliation in Canada Initiative – Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) which has addressed the sad legacy of the Indian Residential Schools will hold its final event, the closing ceremonies of its seven year tenure, in Ottawa on June 21, 2015, which is National Aboriginal Day. We are being asked to ring church bells for the murdered and missing indigenous women and girls. The bells can be rung at noon on June 21, National Aboriginal Day, marking the closing event in Ottawa. We are also asking that a prayer be said on that Sunday. The prayer will be sent to the parishes prior to June 21.  Thank you.

Development and Peace Launches Prayer Contest – This December, Catholic organizations around the world will make a pilgrimage to Paris to compel world leaders to agree to a binding treaty at the United Nations climate change negotiations (COP21)… Development and Peace will be present.  If you would like to take part in person in the Catholic call for climate justice in Paris, please send in a prayer for the contest.  It needs to be a maximum of 100 words, a reflection of our common responsibility to care for creation, for the poor in the Global South who suffer the most from the impacts of climate change and a call for urgent action. Deadline to submit your prayer is June 21, 2015.  Participants must be 18 years or older, only one author per prayer. Send to prayer@devp.org, please include your name and phone number. June 23, Catholic Family Services (CFS), Prince Albert AGM – The annual general meeting for CFS, Prince Albert will be held on Tuesday, June 23 at Catholic Family Services office, 1008 – 1st Avenue West at 12:00pm.  Lunch is provided so please RSVP to CFS at 922-3202 by June 19.  Agenda items will include reports from the Chairperson, Treasurer, Executive Director, and Nominating Committee. 

Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, St. Laurent – The 136th annual pilgrimage begins July 5.  Masses and Daily Novena Prayers are July 6-14, weekdays at 7:30pm, and Sundays at 4:00pm.  Sunday masses from July 5-September 6 are at 4:00pm. Special celebrations are July 15 & 16 (includes guest speaker, Fr. September 24-25, Mindfulness Tools Training, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction – Sponsored by Catholic Family Services of Prince Albert – The goals of the workshop, among many, are to provide professionals with a resource to assist their clients with self-care, assist children with their fears or personal self-care presented by Jeanne Corrigal.
