Truth and Reconciliation in Canada Initiative – Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) which has addressed the sad legacy of the Indian Residential Schools will hold its final event, the closing ceremonies of its seven year tenure, in Ottawa on June 21, 2015, which is National Aboriginal Day. We are being asked to ring church bells for the murdered and missing indigenous women and girls. The bells can be rung at noon on June 21, National Aboriginal Day, marking the closing event in Ottawa. We are also asking that a prayer be said on that Sunday. The prayer will be sent to the parishes prior to June 21. Thank you.
