18-year-old dies after stolen ATV taken for joyride in Kamsack

A young man is dead and another is facing charges after an ATV was stolen from Madge Lake and driven dangerously in the Kamsack area.

RCMP in Kamsack first received a call around 3:15 a.m. Wednesday from an off-duty officer who saw a quad being driven erratically in the town. RCMP say that moments later, the person driving the ATV flagged down the off-duty officer to say that someone had been badly hurt.

One of the passengers on the quad, 18-year-old Brandon Cote from the Cote First Nation, died at the scene.

When on-duty officers arrived at the scene, they descovered the quad had been stolen from Madge Lake.
