Whiskey Jacks get their first ever win, 25-22 over Badgers
On Wednesday at Prime Minister’s Park, the Prince Albert Whiskey Jacks completed something that hadn’t been done in over two decades.
Not only did they win their first game ever 25-22 over the Saskatoon Badgers, but they’re also the first P.A. senior men’s rugby club to win since the Prince Albert Griffins folded in the early 1990’s.
Whiskey Jacks’ forward Jordon Hrynuik led the celebration in midfield, hugging teammates and being far and away the loudest and most triumphant victor.
The 24-year-old graduated from the Saskatchewan Rivers Dragons high school rugby club in 2009 and has had to go to Saskatoon to continue his rugby career since. He’s played for the Wild Oats and most recently the North Saskatchewan Wolverines rep club.
