The details of how a Regina man was killed in March 2014 were revealed at the sentencing of the two women responsible for his death.

Sarah and Roselyn Wilm both faced a charge of second-degree murder in the death of 53-year-old  Ray Allen Yacevich. On Friday, the women appeared in Regina’s Court of Queen’s Bench to plead guilty to manslaughter in the case.

Yacevich’s body was found as Regina fire crews put out a blaze at a home on Wascana Street on March 23, 2014. Sarah and Roselyn Wilm were charged in his death the following week.

On Friday, court heard that the mother and daughter had been drinking and doing drugs with Yacevitch that night. Yacevitch ended up attacking Sarah Wilm, groping her. That’s when Roselyn Wilm grabbed a hammer and hit Yacevitch several times.
