RCMP arrest man suspected of abducting 3 children

A tense afternoon for a family on the Sweetgrass First Nation just west of North Battleford.

Saskatchewan RCMP said at approximately 2:15 p.m., Battleford RCMP received a call from an adult on the Sweetgrass First Nation saying that a man in an SUV abducted three children ages eight, 11, and 13 and left the area. Police were told the children are known to the suspect.

Just a couple of hours later the RCMP located the man and arrested him at a home on the Little Pine First Nation. Four children, including the three abducted from the Sweetgrass First Nation were found safe and sound.

The investigation is ongoing and RCMP said charges are pending.
