Aug 19, 2015 | 6:53 AM

Econo Timber Mart is one of five finalists for the 2015 Community Cornerstone Award, presented by the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce at the annual ABEX awards.

The Community Cornerstone Award is sponsored by SaskEnergy and is presented to a small enterprise that demonstrates great pride in and support for the local community.

The other finalists for the award are Saskatoon Funeral Home, Hopkins Dining Parlour, Midwest Furniture & Appliances and Bushwakker Brewing Company in Regina (The Bushwakker Brewpub).

The winner is chosen based on online votes.

The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce website contains videos of all the finalists.

Voting will begin in mid-September and carry on through October, with the winner announced at the ABEX Awards ceremony on Oct. 24 at TCU Place in Saskatoon.

“This is a tremendously exciting ABEX Award,” said Steve McLellan, CEO of the Sask Chamber in a press release. “Last year in its first year, there was a neck-and-neck race between the finalists, and Ted Matheson Men’s Wear of Prince Albert came out on top.”

Tickets for the ABEX Awards can be purchased on The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce website.
