Raiders come up short in preseason opener
The Regina Pats scored three unanswered goals in the first and second periods in posting a 7-4 win over Prince Albert in the Raiders preseason opener.
Colton Kroeker and Jake Elmer had two goals and one assist each, while Jake Leschyshyn had a goal and two helpers.
Defenseman Brennan Riddle scored his first WHL goal late in the first period and added two assists with rookies Cody Thompson, Josh Maser and Carson Miller rounding out the Raider scoring.
The Pats took advantage of defensive breakdowns in the Prince Albert zone to open leads of 3-0 in the first period and 6-1 in the second and scored a shorthanded goal in the third.
