Bad drivers keep police busy

The Prince Albert Police Service dealing with a pair of dangerous driving incidents over the long weekend.

Saturday morning, just before 1a.m, police responded to the intersection of 28th street and 2nd avenue west.

A pickup truck struck a traffic light standard and fled the area prior to patrols arrival. The pickup truck is described as a black Chevrolet truck with a yellow ATV in the box. The truck and driver have not yet been identified.

Within twenty minutes of that call, police responded to the 2000blk of 2nd avenue west for a vehicle roll over.

A 23-year-old man was driving a red Subaru and struck a parked pickup truck.

The Subaru rolled over after striking the parked vehicle and the driver then fled the scene.

Conservation canine Jaks located the driver a few blocks away. The driver was examined at hospital and was then charged with dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, impaired operation and failure to remain at accident.

Tragic discovery

Early Saturday afternoon, police attended a residence in the 900blk of 12th street west to check on the well-being of the resident.

A 27-year-old Prince Albert man was found dead inside.

The coroner and medical staff attended the scene and the death was not deemed suspicious.

The file is still under investigation. No names will be released.
