Alleged naked police dog biter gets bail

A 20-year-old man accused of biting a police dog in Prince Albert earlier this has received bail on Friday.

Rusty Hearn made an appearance at the Prince Albert Provincial Court.

Hearn faces charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police, resisting arrest and cruelty to animals.

Earlier this work, police in Prince Albert say they responded to a report of a man driving a car under the influence after he was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute.

Hearn's family is disputing both assertions made by police.

The police then pursued the car, which went into a ditch near Highway 11.

The man then exited the car, and police say he was completely naked.

When a Prince Albert Police Service K9 unit was brought in to help take the man into custody, he then allegedly bit Jagger the police dog.

Hearn’s next court date is Sept. 17.
