Jays fever is catching on across the country and Prince Albert is no different.

Fans gathered at Boston Pizza on Wednesday afternoon to enjoy the Toronto Blue Jays fifth and final game against the Texas Rangers.

Bryce Albert said the team was playing well with so much at stake. As a lifelong fan, Albert said it means a lot to see the team succeed.

“There’s a lot of high emotions, it’s something I haven’t seen,” said Albert. “Last time they did this I wasn’t really old enough to remember, so to experience this with my friend and knowing my family is watching, there’s a lot more to it than just a ball game right now.”

He said the ‘bandwagon jumpers’ aren’t a concern.

“It’s Canada’s team.  It’s for everybody right now,” said Albert. “It’s exciting to know that a new generation of fans are coming into baseball.”

Overall, Albert said what matters is the final result.

“I’d like to see them go all the way, that’s the bottom line of it all,” he said. “It’s exciting…it’s very, very exciting.”

Reagan Jacobs said he’s been a fan for as long as he can remember.

“I still remember being four years old when Joe Carter hit the home run in ’93 to win the back-to-back World Series…it was awesome,” said Jacobs. “(It’s) another big year, we’re going all the way.”

While watching the game, Jacobs went into a full analysis, but said, “Overall, they’re doing really well.”

“When asked how he was feeling, Jacobs summed it up with one word, “epic.”

He said it’s been nice to see everyone get behind the Jays.

“Support is support, that’s what makes the team.”

In the end, the Jays came out on top, winning 6:3.
