New Friends Needed

Volunteers Needed to help Newcomer Families

Jun 24, 2019 | 9:32 AM

We’re currently looking for volunteers to help newcomer families settle into life in Canada.

We’re expecting quite a few within the next two months.

Some tasks include:

  • showing clients how to use the bus system.
  • volunteer drivers to take clients to appointments (mileage reimbursed)
  • tutors in general
  • Canadian families to help connect with newcomer families
  • Tutors at the Mom’s and Babies conversation circle – Weekdays 9:00am – 11:30am

These are some examples of the major activities that our volunteers participate in.

Regardless of whether someone would like to volunteer regularly or just casually we have volunteer roles and opportunities that work around your schedule and desired time commitment.

There is no minimum time period or # of hours that a volunteer must commit to when signing up to volunteer with YWCA Settlement Services and interested volunteers can either go to the website: www.ywcaprincealbert.ca or email me directly at davidhambleton.ywca@sasktel.net
