Water main break interrupts morning rush

Several drivers were forced to take evasive action Monday, when water suddenly came shooting out of the ground during their morning drive.

The water main break happened near the intersection of 21st Street and Sixth Ave. E.

A spokesperson for the city’s public works department told paNOW they would be shutting down at least one lane on the northbound side of Sixth Avenue. East. and may need to close both. In that case all traffic would be moved to the southbound side.

Repair to the water main was expected to take one day.
