Woman charged with attempted theft, assault with a weapon

A 26-year-old woman is scheduled to appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court tomorrow after an incident at a business on 28th Street East last night.

Police responded to the business after 8 p.m. for a report of an attempted shoplifting. Prince Albert Police say staff members were threatened with a knife after confronting a woman attempting to steal items from the store.

The woman fled, but was arrested early this morning when police attended a separate call at a different location.

Break and Enters

In a separate unrelated file, police are asking for help in locating the person or people responsible for break and enters and damage to several businesses on Monday night.

Police are investigating three break and enters along Fifth Avenue East. All the incidents happened overnight Monday.

Police say there was over $8,000 in damages.
