The Prince Albert Food Bank held their fill-a-Bowl chili fundraiser at the legion building on Eighth Street East today.

The event, which runs from 11:30 a.m., to 1 p.m., saw all proceeds going toward the local food bank. Those in attendance could purchase chili and a bun for $10, chili and a hand-made ceramic bowl for $20, or chili and a wooden bowl for $25.

Kerry Ramsdell, operations manager at the P.A. Food Bank told paNOW the importance of the event.

“We want to raise money for the food bank, and general hunger awareness,” Ramsdell said.

“Anyone can come down, it’s a kid-friendly event. We are situated at the legion right now because we are currently under renovations and we don’t have a kitchen, so I want to say a big thank you to the legion for letting us set up.”

Ramsdell noted that this is the fourth year the event has been hosted, and they hope to see roughly 100 attendees come through the doors.

“It’s just a good cause, and a good way to raise some money.”
