A second court appearance has come and gone for a man alleged responsible for a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 16-year-old girl from Shellbrook.

Riley Farthing, 22, from Blaine Lake, appeared in person Wednesday at the Rosthern court and was supported by family members. In relation to the crash that occurred last month near Hepburn, he has been charged with impaired driving causing death.

Farthing’s lawyer Brian Pfefferle is requiring more disclosure from the Crown and was granted an adjournment to Nov. 25.

The fatal collision occurred on Highway 12, north of the Highway 312 intersection.

The RCMP investigation determined a truck and an SUV collided. The teenage girl, who has since been identified as Brooklyn Anderson, was driving the SUV and was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.

Brooke’s mother was a passenger in the SUV and was taken to hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening in nature.

Farthing, the driver and sole occupant of the truck, was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Tributes and support have been pouring in for Brooklyn and the Anderson family. A Go Fund Me was created to raise funds so they can have the time to grieve, recover, and heal.
