Scott shines as Team WHL edges Russia

Raider goaltender Ian Scott kept rolling at the CIBC Canada Russia Challenge Monday night, stopping 27 of 28 shots to help Team WHL to a 2-1 victory over Russia.

Forward Brett Leason, the WHL’s leading scorer, chipped in with an assist as he set up Lethbridge Hurricanes’ forward Jordy Bellerive for the game-winning goal.

Leason, Scott, and teammate Parker Kelly will once again represent Team WHL tonight for game two of the series in Vancouver.

Wiesblatt, Guhle pick up wins at U-17

At the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in New Brunswick, Raider rookie Ozzy Wiesblatt and Team Canada Black took on the Czech Republic in their second game of the tournament after dropping their opener in overtime to Canada White on Sunday.

Canada Black picked up a 3-2 overtime win Monday and will take on the United States this afternoon.

Later on Monday, Nov. 5, Raider defender Kaiden Guhle earned an assist as Canada Red beat Sweden 4-3 in overtime. Canada Red is also back on the ice Tuesday, facing Finland at 5 p.m.
