Local takes stage at Miss World Canada
When Tanisha Merasty signed up for the Miss Saskatchewan World pageant the day before the event, she could have never anticipated it would lead her to a national stage.
“I just wanted some experience,” the 19-year-old previously told paNOW. But after taking the crown in Saskatoon this April, Merasty has been touring Toronto over the past week at the Miss World Canada completion in the city.
“It has been really, really good,” she said Friday. “I have met a lot of really interesting people and it has made a big impact on my life.”
The young lady is new to the world of modelling and pageantry. Prior to the Saskatchewan event, she had never done a swimwear competition but had participated in a few interviews and was confident going in. This confidence has carried over to Toronto where she will take on 57 girls from across the country for the national title.
