Increased enforcement around Muskoday Bridge construction: RCMP
RCMP are warning drivers to be aware while travelling around the Muskoday Bridge, as police are in the area watching for speeders and those not obeying traffic safety rules.
Sgt. Lyle Korczak with the Prince Albert RCMP detachment told paNOW many drivers are ignoring traffic safety rules and speeding through the construction zone. Korczak’s warning comes one day after paNOW reported similar concerns from those working in the area.
“They’re trying to rush their way through and they’re not being cognizant of the construction workers there, and they’re jeopardizing the safety of everybody in the area,” Korczak said. “We know people have not been obeying the stop lights out there and they’re putting a lot of people at risk.”
Crews have been working around the Muskoday Bridge since late August, reducing the area to one lane for much of that time. On Thursday, Kim Deneau with Eiffage, a company working on traffic control in the construction area, told paNOW about concerns over impatient and inattentive drivers.
