Canada loses 52-5 to Scotland in rugby sevens World Series opener
SYDNERY, Australia — Canada’s men’s rugby sevens team lost its opening match of the HSBC World Series on Friday, falling 52-5 to Scotland.
Max McFarland had three tries for No. 13 Scotland, which erupted for 31 points in the second half.
Jamie Farndale, Gavin Lowe, Glenn Bryce and substitute Sean Kennedy had the other tries.
Nathan Hirayama had the lone try for Canada in the fifth minute of the match.
