13 Raiders invited to NHL development camps

Other drafted Raiders attending development camps include Braeden Cootes, selected 15th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in 2025; Max Heise, drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round last year; and Brandon Gorzynski, who was selected by the Dallas Stars in the fourth round of the 2025 draft.

Gorzynski will be joined in Dallas by former Raider Carson Latimer. After spending parts of two seasons in Prince Albert, including serving as an alternate captain in 2022-23, Latimer finished his WHL career with the Red Deer Rebels before moving to the NCAA’s Michigan Tech last season. His play there earned him a development camp invitation with the Stars.

Raiders defenceman Benett Kelly also received an invitation from the Pittsburgh Penguins after going undrafted this weekend. Kelly was among the players hoping to hear his name called at the draft but remains eligible for the 2027 NHL Draft and is expected to play a key role on Prince Albert’s blue line next season.

Matyas Man, another draft-eligible Raider who was not selected, also earned a development camp invitation from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Former Raiders goaltender Max Hildebrand is heading to camp with the Nashville Predators after completing his first NCAA season at Bemidji State. Hildebrand, the WHL Goaltender of the Year in his final junior season, also attended the Los Angeles Kings’ development camp last summer.

Former Raider Rilen Kovacevic will attend camp with the Colorado Avalanche after signing with the organization’s AHL affiliate, the Colorado Eagles. Injuries limited him to just five games with the ECHL’s Utah Grizzlies last season.

Defenceman Terrell Goldsmith is also returning to NHL development camp. Drafted 102nd overall in 2023 by the Utah Mammoth, Goldsmith appeared in three AHL games with the Tucson Roadrunners last season and is entering the final year of his entry-level contract.

Also earning an invitation is Melfort product and former Prince Albert Mintos captain Nate Misskey, who will attend the San Jose Sharks’ development camp. Misskey spent three seasons with the Victoria Royals, serving as an assistant captain for two of them, before playing last season at the University of Massachusetts Lowell.
