Return to sender: Timberjaks, Chiefs swap assets in latest transaction

The Prince Albert Timberjaks and Martensville Chiefs have made yet another trade, the latest one stemming from a deal the clubs made in December 2025.

In their latest transaction, on Oct. 27, the Jaks sent forward Tristin Tetreault-Yaremko and defenceman Turner Krahn back to the Chiefs in exchange for defenceman Lane Keyowski, forward Kieran Sobry and a player development fee (PDF).

Tetreault-Yaremko and Krahn were acquired by Prince Albert less than two weeks ago on Oct. 15, when they were announced the final pieces to a trade that was initiated on Dec. 18, 2025. In that deal, the Timberjaks sent Jace Borschneck to Martensville for a PDF and future considerations.

Tetreault-Yaremko and Krahn were dealt back to the Chiefs because they did not have intentions on playing in Prince Albert, according to Timberjaks general manager Stef Corfmat.

“They did not want to come here. They were three-year guys and wanted to stay and finish playing in Martensville.”

Keyowski, who hails from Shellbrook, brings Saskatchewan AAA level playing experience from his two years with the Battlefords Stars where he notched a combined 13 points (2G-11A) and 112 penalty minutes in 69 career games. With Martensville this season, the 6’3″, 185-pound blueliner has two goals and three assists to go along with 18 penalty minutes in 10 games.

Meanwhile, Sobry has yet to suit up in a game this season but also spent the last two seasons in AAA playing for the Yorkton Maulers. There, the Warman product netted 30 points (15G-15A) in 58 games, while also scoring 11 points (2G-9A) in 14 games for the Chiefs last season.

“Both guys played AAA, and they’re great players,” said Corfmat, when asked about what he liked about them. “Sobry is a skilled forward that plays pretty tenacious and is a good kid overall, comes from a good family. Same with Keyowski. He’s a bigger guy and plays the body, he plays very well in his own end and he’s offensive as well. I think next year for sure, he’ll probably go play Junior A.”

Keyowski made his debut last night with the club during Prince Albert’s 5-3 loss against the Quakers in Saskatoon. Meanwhile, Sobry was recently released by the Battlefords North Stars in the SJHL and is “in the process” of joining the team.

During Wednesday’s game, Corfmat said that they were missing a few bodies on the bench and had to call up four players to fill the roster, including Tristan Hanson, Liam Acorn, Ryan Ward, and Cohen Greenwood. Ward ended up scoring the Timberjaks’ second goal of the game in the second period, with Hanson assisting on the play.

“The young guys played really good for us. The future is bright.”

Additionally, Keethan Isbister and Taelan Casavant also found the back of the net in the loss while Carter Martin and Trey Mudry collected assists. Josh Henry and Jaxon Hozack split time between the pipes for P.A., making 25 combined saves.

The Jaks hit the road in their next contest on Nov. 1 when they head to Saskatoon to face the PJHL defending champions Westleys at Rod Hamm Arena.
