Joseph Gill
1943 – 2026
Joseph John Gill was born in Melun, France, January 4, 1943. He was an amazing husband, uncle, father and grandfather who passed away September 9, 2026 in Prince Albert, surrounded by his family at his side at the Rose Garden Hospice. He was 83 years old.
Joseph was the middle sibling of three children. He moved to Canada in March of 1948 at the age of 5 with his parents Kasmir and Jane as well as his older sister Jennie and younger sister Mary. Joseph grew up and attended school in Paddockwood. He farmed in the Paddockwood area, where his parents homesteaded and enjoyed it immensely no matter if times were tough or not. Later, he started to get into hauling logs and logging operations which he continued to do for the entirety of his life. He loved being around equipment and farming and logging did not seem like work to him at all. He loved life and all it had to offer, especially his family, the farm, his equipment, his cattle and his many very close friends.
Joseph leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 53 years Alice; four sons, Jerry (Michelle), Jim (Jennifer), Jack (Kristin), and David; grandchildren, Jared, Jackson, Jacob, Matthew, Jessica, Addisyn and Caydance; sister Mary Lewis; nephews Brian (Michelle), Barry (Penny) and family; niece Tracy (Quenton) and family; and all Joseph’s friends and neighbors.
He was predeceased by his nephew, Terry Lewis; his parents, Kasmir and Jane Gill; his sister, Jennie Mindiuk; and his brother-in-law, Gordon Lewis.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Plaza 88, 888 Central Avenue, Prince Albert, SK with Rev. Nora Vedress officiating. Interment will follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens.
