P.A. celebrates second Ukrainian Day at Little Red River Park
Ukrainian culture, music and traditions took centre stage within Little Red River Park on Saturday as Ukrainian Day in Prince Albert returned for its second year.
The event featured a little something for everyone like live entertainment, games, and crafts, while local dignitaries like Mayor Bill Powalinsky and MLA Alana Ross welcomed people to the celebration.
Charlene Tebbutt helped organize the event and is also the vice president of Ukrainian Canadian Congress of Saskatchewan as well as a member of the Prince Albert Veselka Club.
She said the celebration coincides with a significant milestone within Ukrainian culture; that being when the first immigrants came to Canada in September of 1891.
