Alleged carjacker maintains innocence

One of two people charged after a carjacking in Prince Albert has entered not guilty pleas and is now awaiting trial dates. 

Justice Kadachuk appeared by video when his matters were discussed Thursday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court. In relation to the events that occurred last March, Kadachuk was charged with possession of stolen property exceeding $5,000 and robbery. 

Police were called to the 2600 block of Second Ave. W. for a report of a vehicle that had been stolen at gunpoint. Arriving officers learned four people were allegedly taking a rideshare when one of them brandished a firearm and told the driver to exit the vehicle. 

The vehicle was brought to a stop on Kemp Crescent, and shortly after, another officer located Kadachuk in the unit block of Bowerman Crescent, where he was arrested without further incident.
