Two returning 20-year-olds for the Raiders
Heading into the season last year, the Prince Albert Raiders had four 20-year-olds to start the season, all of which had been a part of the Raiders for at least four years.
The crew of Justice Christensen, Aiden Oiring, and Brayden Dube would stay with the Raiders and be considered by many around the league as the best group of 20-year-olds in the WHL, while Harrison Lodewyk was traded to the Calgary Hitmen and became an important veteran presence on, according to Elite Prospects, the youngest team in the WHL.
This year’s 20-year-old situation is completely different. There are only two 20-year-olds returning from last year, and neither of them have been around for more than a season and a half: Evan Smith and Maddix McCagherty.
The two were integral parts of the 2025-26 Eastern Conference Championship season, and now they’re both poised to become leaders of 2026-27 Prince Albert Raiders.
