New Prince Albert sober-living homes expand addiction recovery supports
Twelve new second-stage sober-living spaces are now operating in Prince Albert through a partnership between the provincial government and Prince Albert Grand Council.
The province is providing PAGC with $556,000 in annual funding for the spaces, which are located in two fourplexes. Client intake began Aug. 7, and the program reached full capacity Oct. 1.
The spaces are intended for people who have completed initial treatment and are continuing their recovery in a supportive, substance-free setting. Programming includes counselling and connections to community and culture, with services available to Saskatchewan residents.
Mental Health and Addictions Minister Lori Carr said the homes will give residents structure, stability and community connections while they build life skills and work toward long-term recovery.
