Prince Albert police have charged a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old girl with second degree murder.

It’s in connection to the death of 27-year-old Daina Gauthier who was stabbed in an area of the city’s downtown on Thursday morning, where the homeless are known to reside.

On Friday, a special memorial was being set up to honour “Baby Moose.” Daina’s aunt Jessica Fiddler was busy adding flowers and a collections of items that were important to her niece.

“The streets are not the same without her, its really quiet out here,” Fiddler said. “She just made your day better.”

Charmaine Dumais added a small green alien stuffie.

“She always carrying this around in her backpack and I found this behind the church up the hill, so I thought I’d bring it because she had it all the time.”

Dumais described her friend as outspoken and very proper.

paNOW was also told Gauthier had at least two children. Alyson Corrigal, a daycare operator, who helped Gauthier said she was the most caring, loving, big hearted mom to her children.

“She was a silly individual. She was always the jokester. When she saw me in the community any time she would come give me a hug and tell me thank you for all the support you gave me. She was a mom, a daughter, a sister and protector. She mattered.”
