It is with heavy hearts that the family of Doreen Antonson (nee Pankewich), announce her passing on Sunday, July 26^th, 2026, at the age of 83 years. She had a tough but courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Doreen was born on June 29^th, 1943, to John and Mary Pankewich in Scotland. She married the love of her life, Dennis (Skip), on July 8^th, 1967, in North Battleford, SK, and they were blessed with 3 children. Doreen was a caring teacher and lived in various communities throughout the province.

Doreen is survived by her 3 children. Her son, Brent Antonson (Lesa Isinger, Tanner Isinger of Toronto, and Bryce Isinger) of Prince Albert, and grandson Daniel Antonson of Saskatoon; her son, Bradley (Cindy), and granddaughters, Brooklyn and Bryn Antonson of Prince Albert; and daughter, Jennifer Antonson (Barry Hayden) of Prince Albert, and daughters, Callie (Josh) Weibe of Saskatoon, and Robyn (Chad) Zubot of Lloydminster, and their children, Brody and Sloane. She is also survived by her three siblings, Ethel (Barry) Klettke of Penticton, BC; Albert (Doreen) Pankewich of Regina, SK; George (Marlene) Pankewich of Spruce Grove, AB, as well as many nieces and nephews. Doreen is predeceased by her loving husband Dennis (Skip) Antonson; her parents, John and Mary Pankewich; and her parents in-law, Earl and Joyce Antonson.

Doreen was a generous, happy-go-lucky person who loved music and adventuring with her husband. She was a beloved teacher, who had a special gift for making people feel welcomed and cared for. Doreen was known for her kindness, and incredible sense of humor. She loved spending time with her family, whom she taught to stay kind, resilient, and grateful for everything that was given. Doreen was always proud of her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments and never missed an opportunity to make sure they knew how proud and grateful she was for her family. Doreen enjoyed travelling the world and experiencing new things with her husband, Skip, whom she adored. She left her mark in every community in which she lived, always willing to lend a hand and be a great friend to all, there was never a stranger when she was around.

The family would like to thank the many families and friends who have offered their prayers and support throughout the years and through this difficult time. They would also like to thank the staff at Mont St. Joseph Home in Prince Albert for their excellent and compassionate care they gave Doreen throughout the years.

A Celebration of Life is to be announced by the family at a later date.
