Trevor Marion

December 12, 1972 – July 27, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Trevor Marion, who passed away on July 27, 2026, at the age of 53.

Born and raised in James Smith Cree Nation and Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Trevor carried his roots proudly throughout his life. The values of family, community, hard work, and service that shaped his early years remained at the core of who he was. He stayed deeply connected to his culture, his family, and the communities that helped shape him. Trevor’s life was defined by generosity, friendship, leadership, and his remarkable ability to bring people together.

Above all else, Trevor was a devoted family man.

He was a loving husband to Theresa, his partner, best friend, and the love of his life. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, adventure, friendship, and unwavering support for one another. When speaking about Theresa, Trevor once borrowed a line from Forrest Gump that perfectly captured their relationship: “Me and her is like peas and carrots.” Anyone who knew Trevor and Theresa knew exactly what he meant. They were a team in every sense of the word, building a life together, raising a family, and sharing a partnership rooted in love, friendship, and mutual respect.

Trevor was an immensely proud father to Evan, Peter, Kolton, and Drew, who were the centre of his world and his greatest source of pride. He loved watching his boys grow into remarkable young men and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. He was happiest when surrounded by family, including the family’s three beloved dogs, who were very much a part of the Marion household.

Trevor was predeceased by his parents, Lena Marion and Micheal Marion, and by his beloved older sister, Karen Marion.

Trevor dedicated much of his adult life to serving others, both professionally and within his community. He built a remarkable career with the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA), beginning at the grassroots level and advancing through numerous leadership roles before ultimately serving as Regional General Manager. He believed leadership was about people first—about mentorship, opportunity, and helping others succeed.

His commitment to community extended far beyond his professional career. Trevor generously devoted his time, energy, and leadership to numerous organizations and initiatives. His dedication to building stronger communities and improving the lives of others was recognized in 2020 when he was named Swift Current Citizen of the Year.

Trevor remained deeply connected to his Indigenous heritage and took great pride in his roots. He loved attending pow-wows, connecting with family and community, and celebrating the traditions, relationships, and culture that meant so much to him.

Outside of work, Trevor was known for his quick wit, welcoming nature, and ability to make people feel at home. He loved travelling, golfing, fishing, attending community gatherings, and spending time with the people he cared about most.

He was a storyteller, a mentor, a trusted advisor, and a loyal friend who could always be counted upon. Those who knew him best will remember his laughter, his colourful shoes, his generosity, his wisdom, and his unwavering loyalty. He had a way of making people feel welcome, appreciated, and valued.

Trevor believed in people. He believed in family, friendship, community, and the importance of staying connected to where you come from. He measured success not by titles or accomplishments, but by relationships, shared experiences, and the positive impact we leave on others.

More than any award, title, or achievement, Trevor’s legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he built, the communities he strengthened, and the countless lives he touched along the way.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void, the love, laughter, wisdom, and memories he shared will remain with us forever.

If Trevor taught us anything, it was that life’s greatest treasures are found in family, friendship, laughter, and the stories we create together.

Trevor will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

His loving wife, Theresa; his sons, Evan, Peter, Kolton, and Drew; his sisters, Amelia Lafond and Nicole Marion; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, close friends, colleagues, and community members whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

A Wake Service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at the Prince Albert Urban Services (1211-1^st Ave W), Prince Albert, SK starting at 6:00 pm

A second Wake Service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at the Weldon Auditorium (58 Central Street) Weldon, SK starting at 6:00 pm with the Funeral Service being held on Saturday, August 1, 2026 starting at 1:00 pm.

Interment will take place at St. Luke’s Anglican Church Cemetery on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm, James Smith Cree Nation.
