Wanda May Lee
NewPosted 2 hours ago

Wanda May Lee was born on May 25, 1955, to the late Percy and Florence (nee Seymour) Lee. She passed peacefully on January 1, 2026, at the Rose Garden Hospice in Prince Albert, SK.
Growing up between British Columbia and Saskatchewan, she graduated from high school in Prince Albert in 1974. That September, she and Murray Poulin were married and began their family in the village of Northside, with their first child, Candice, being born in the spring of 1975 and their second child, Carol, in the spring of 1979. The family later moved up to the land at Tweedsmuir. After separating in ’88 and finalizing the divorce in ’93, Wanda and the girls continued on the land for many years, even camping there after moving away.
She met her life partner, Maurice (Moe), in 2003 and joined him in making their home together on the farm named Flushing Meadows for over 22 years.
Friendships meant the world to her, and she enjoyed having them over for cards or games of Marbles, and having lunch at Smitty’s Restaurant. She had a love of horses all her life, including a special love for her horse, Misty. Wanda was always ready to check out Value Village or a garage sale for a great find, something brass to add to her collections, or a cool piece of clothing. Wanda also had an amazing talent for art. You could find her projects on the walls in her home and, at one point in time, on the side of Logan’s General Store in Christopher Lake. She worked as a cook at various restaurants in the lake area and at camps like Ancient Spirals. Most recently, she found a love for being a school bus driver and enjoyed her “Bus Angels” on her route. She was always decorating her bus for special occasions, especially Christmas.
Wanda is survived by her life partner, Maurice LaHaye; her daughters, Candice (Vance) Bingham, Carol Poulin, and her “like a daughter,” Rose Harris (Tyler Dunn); her sister-in-law, Tina Lee; and her brother, Tryggvi Lee; her nieces, nephews, and special friends. She cherished her Earth Angels: Chase, Brock, Hannah (Kaje Hubley), Hayden, Nattalie, Hyrum, Ava, Gavin, and Rhyce. She even got to enjoy having Great Earth Angels, Jamie, Mya and Winnie.
Wanda is predeceased by her parents, Percy and Florence; and her siblings, Phillip, Marvin, Carol, and Sharon. Shortly after her passing, her brother Brian and sister-in-law Kathy Bird also passed away.
A Celebration of Life (potluck style and bring your own lawn chair) will be held at Moe and Wanda’s farm (Flushing Meadows) on August 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
If you need directions and/or are able to bring an item for the potluck, please reach out to Candice Bingham. To share memories and condolences, please visit www.saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home, 306-244-5577.
