Less than three weeks after allegedly threatening another man with a gun, the suspect who fled the scene was arrested at a home where police found several weapons.

Kenneth McQuarrie appeared Tuesday morning in Prince Albert Provincial Court and was remanded until July 17.

In relation to the June 26 incident, the 20-year-old was charged with several firearm-related offences, including possession of a prohibited firearm, pointing a firearm and assault with a weapon.

According to the Prince Albert Police Service, officers were initially called to a business in the 2700 block of 15th Avenue East after a report that a man had pointed a firearm at another man.

When officers arrived, both the suspect and the victim had left the scene.

Surveillance video from the business showed the suspect and another man fighting in the parking lot while the suspect was holding what appeared to be a firearm. Police said the suspect left the area in a vehicle before officers arrived.

Police later found the vehicle at a property on Fourth Street East and arrested two women at the scene. The male suspect was not there. A loaded shotgun was found in the vehicle.

On July 12, police responded to a shooting in the West Flat and later went to a home in the 800 block of 12th Street. During a search of the home, police seized a firearm, ammunition and body armour.

McQuarrie and Tyrell Villeneuve were arrested and jointly charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a weapon, careless storage of a firearm, breaching firearm prohibition orders and several outstanding warrants related to firearm offences.
