It is with deep sadness that the family of Larry Edward Maximchuk announces his passing on July 2, 2026, at the age of 71.
Larry was born on May 21, 1955, in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, to Miroslaw Maximchuk and Ruby Violet Maximchuk (née Fyrk). He had two siblings, his brother Dave and his sister Marilyn.
Larry dedicated his career to serving the community of Prince Albert through many years of employment with the City of Prince Albert. Throughout his career, he worked in several departments, including Waterworks, Parks, Stores, and the parking booth at Gateway Mall, before finishing his career as the Manager of Waste Management. He was respected for his strong work ethic, practical leadership, and commitment to serving his community.
Outside of work, music was Larry’s lifelong passion. An accomplished drummer, he spent many years performing as a side profession while sharing his love of music with others. He also enjoyed playing the guitar and piano, finding joy and fulfillment in making music throughout his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Sandra Marie Maximchuk (née Kopchynski); his daughters, Nicole and Andrea, and Andrea’s partner, Kenneth. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Hannah, Mason, and Cayle, who brought him endless happiness.
Larry also shared a special bond with his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces and treasured the many hours spent with them and their families. Whether gathering for celebrations or simply enjoying time together, those moments were among his most cherished.
Larry will be remembered as a hardworking, dependable, and caring man whose quiet strength, kindness, and sense of humour touched the lives of many. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication—to his family, his career, his music, and the friendships he built throughout his life.
He was predeceased by his parents, Miroslaw Maximchuk and Ruby Violet Maximchuk (née Fyrk) and Dave Maximchuk.
In keeping with Larry’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. His family encourages those who knew him to remember him in their own way—perhaps by listening to a favorite song or sharing a story.
