Man injured in shooting in Prince Albert

Police in Prince Albert are investigating a weekend shooting. 

A 30-year-old man was shot in the 1600 block of Muir Dr. just after 6:30 on Saturday morning. 

Officers found the man who had been shot, and he was taken to hospital by Parkland Ambulance with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. 

The investigation revealed that there was an altercation between a group of people in the area, which resulted in bear spray and a firearm being discharged multiple times. 

Police believe the suspects left the scene in a vehicle before they arrived.

“The victim and the suspects are believed to be known to each other, and this is not a random event,” police stated. “As a result of the firearm discharges, there was damage to houses in the area, but no residents were injured.” 

The investigation continues, and anyone with information can contact the Prince Albert Police Service at 306-953-4222, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
