Mary Hradecki
1930 – 2026
Mary was born in Henribourg, SK on April 7, 1930. She met and married William “Bill” Hradecki in 1948. They homesteaded in Meath Park district for 55 years and raised their 5 children there.
Mom led a busy farm life, always planting a big garden, raising chickens, geese, and dairy cows, and helping Dad with the mixed farming life. Daily chores like milking cows, shipping cream, and selling eggs to add to the family income were part of her routine. Mom was always busy with her hobbies like the beautiful cross stitch artwork she made for each of us, even with her troubled eyesight. She also loved puzzles!
When Mom and Dad retired from farm life they moved into Prince Albert. Once Dad passed, Mom built a circle of friends, going to afternoon coffee get-togethers.
Mom loved the road trips to visit out-of-town family. She took trips to Arizona and Las Vegas, and she travelled many times to Edmonton to visit her great-grandchildren who affectionately called her their G.G.
Mom made the move to St. Volodymyr in Saskatoon before Covid hit and remained there until her passing on July 1, 2026.
She is survived by her children, George (Marilyn), Morris (Joy), Jerry (Darlene), Ruby (Brian) Slonski, and Emily (Norbert) Proulx; her grandchildren, Colin (Kim), Chad (Lori), Derek (Sarah), Kyle (Sarah), Tyler, and Mario; her great-grandchildren, Andrew (Ryce), Kallie (Travis), Logan, Noah (Madison), Lexi, Cashton, and Malaki; and her great-great-grandchildren, Kevin and Harlan.
She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Emily Pasdernick; her husband, William “Bill”; her grandson, Kevin; and her brother, Vince.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 28th Street West, Prince Albert, SK. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026 at the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 684 3rd Avenue East, Prince Albert, SK, with The Very Reverend Father Michael Lomaszkiewicz officiating.
