Victim’s family testify at murder trial
The events preceding a man’s death on Canada Day, 2024, were the focus of discussion during the second day of testimony at a murder trial in Prince Albert.
Quinton Gardiner, 40, is one of two men alleged responsible for the death of 41-year-old Norman Wenzel.
Around 2 a.m., members of the Prince Albert Police Service were called to a home on Kemp Crescent and found Wenzel suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to hospital where he died.
James Wenzel, the victim’s 78-year-old father and the owner of the house, went to bed around 8p.m. on June 30. He was awoken roughly five hours later by his grandson who informed him someone was trying to get into the house.
