Disastrous third inning sinks Blue Jays in 5-2 loss to Phillies
TORONTO — Alec Bohm kick-started a three-run third-inning with an RBI single, Cristopher Sanchez had 10 strikeouts, and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the Toronto Blue Jays 5-2 on Monday.
Adolis Garcia homered, while J.T. Realmuto and Bryson Stott also drove in runs for Philadelphia (36-30), which earned its fifth win in six games.
Sanchez (8-2) gave up four hits, two runs and one walk in seven innings of work. Jhoan Duran earned the save after Brad Keller took over in the eighth from Sanchez.
Yohendrick Pinango had a groundout RBI and Ernie Clement homered for Toronto (32-35).
