SIGA Scholarship Program

SIGA is a progressive organization guided by principles rooted in First Nations heritage. One of these principles, Pimâcihowin, refers to making a living, and SIGA recognizes that education and continued learning are essential to doing so. We established the SIGA Scholarship Program to invest $120,000 in First Nations students across Saskatchewan.

Four Scholarships Available


PRIORITY FIELDS OF STUDY

Applications from all programs are accepted. Priority consideration is given to these fields:

•      Business & Commerce

•      Information Technology (IT)

•      Project Management

•      Gaming Operations

•      Culinary Arts

•      Procurement / Supply Chain

•      Tourism & Hospitality

 

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR APPLICATION

✓    Résumé

✓    Unofficial academic transcripts

✓    One letter of reference

✓    Confirmation of enrollment or acceptance

✓    Proof of First Nations status

Note: Unofficial transcripts are required to apply. Official transcripts are only needed if you are selected as a recipient. Current SIGA employees are ineligible; friends and family are encouraged to apply

COMMON QUESTIONS

Can I apply for more than one scholarship?

Yes — you can apply for every scholarship you are eligible for, but each requires a separate application. Essay responses will differ for each.

Do I need official transcripts?

No. Unofficial transcripts are all that is required to apply. Official transcripts are only needed if you are selected as a recipient.

Can I reuse the same reference for multiple applications?

We strongly recommend a different reference for each application, but a single reference is accepted if necessary.

When will decisions be announced?

The Scholarship Advisory Committee aims to send decisions by mid-September 2026. Timelines may shift.

Are SIGA employees eligible?

No — current SIGA employees are ineligible, but their family and friends are encouraged to apply.
