Minor injuries reported after stunting crash at Art Hauser parking lot

May 23, 2026 | 6:01 AM

An incident that occurred Thursday evening in the south parking lot of Prince Albert’s Art Hauser Center has shone a headlight on the ongoing concerns raised over the years about the stunting that is occurring in the area.

At approximately 6:20 p.m., the police Service responded to a three-vehicle collision and located a white sedan with significant front-end damage.

Two parked vehicles also sustained substantial damage and all three vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The subsequent investigation determined the driver of the white sedan was travelling at a high rate of speed through the parking lot, lost control while attempting a turn, and struck the parked vehicles.

The driver was issued a ticket under The Traffic Safety Act for driving without due care and attention. One individual who had been seated in the box of the parked vehicle at the time of the collision sustained minor injuries and was assessed by Parkland Ambulance at the scene.

 No serious injuries were reported.

“As warmer weather is now here and more residents gather in parking lots, recreational areas, and public spaces, the Prince Albert Police Service is reminding drivers to operate their vehicles safely and responsibly,” the police said. adding excessive speed, careless driving, and dangerous maneuvers in parking lots place our community at significant risk.

“The Prince Albert Police Service will continue to proactively monitor and enforce traffic safety concerns throughout the summer months as to ensure the safety of all residents.”

As far back as 2020 and 2021, City Councilor Blake Edwards raised concerns about the ‘drifting” occurring in the late evening and early morning hours.
