Christensen and Cootes share excitement ahead of three straight home playoff games
The WHL Finals have officially arrived in Prince Albert as the Raiders get set for Game 3 against the Everett Silvertips. The Raiders have returned home with a split coming out of Everett, and now they are looking to take advantage of home ice and the Art Hauser Centre crowd for the next three games.
The big news going into the action is that the Raiders will be without Daxon Rudolph for the first time this season. The 17-year-old assistant captain has played all 85 games this year between regular season and playoffs, but was suspended for one game after a high cross check to Silvertips forward Carter Bear during a Silvertips goal celebration.
In more positive news, 16-year-old Brock Cripps has been named the WHL Rookie of the Week after posting a goal and an assist through the opening weekend.
The Raiders themselves are feeling the excitement in the city now that they have returned from Everett. For Raiders captain Justice Christensen, having three games in a row on home ice during the playoffs is going to be something special.
