City confirms opening date for Kinsmen Water Park

With more snow in the forecast this week for the Prince Albert area, the city is reminding residents summer is not that far around the corner.

The opening date for the Kinsmen Water Park has been confirmed for Friday, June 5.

The final day of operation for Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre – Aquatics will be Friday, June 19. Following this date, the aquatic facility will temporarily close to allow for scheduled warranty work and maintenance.

Both facilities will operate on adjusted schedules during this transition period, with the Kinsmen Water Park moving to its regular summer schedule after June 19. The city is also expanding aquatic programming for Summer 2026 and will offer 780 swimming lesson spots, an increase from last year.

Important Dates

  • April 28, 2026 – 10 a.m. – School and Organization rentals open
  • May 20, 2026 – 10 a.m. – Public rentals open
  • May 26, 2026 – 10 a.m. – Summer 2026 lessons viewable online
  • June 2, 2026 – 10 a.m. – Resident lesson registration opens
  • June 9, 2026 – 10 a.m. – Lesson registration opens to everyone

School Bookings

School bookings will be available Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., beginning June 5, 2026. Schools interested in securing a booking are encouraged to contact Aquatics directly at rjanes@citypa.com.

After-Hours Rentals After-hours rentals will be available from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily, weather permitting, from June 8, 2026 to August 8, 2026. These rentals will open to the public on May 20, 2026 at 10 a.m. and can be booked online at citypa.ca/register.

Schedules for both the Kinsmen Water Park and Lake Country Co-op Leisure Centre – Aquatics during the transition period will be posted closer to opening. The final day of regular operations for the Kinsmen Water Park will be August 23.
