TeleMiracle raises record $10.5 million in milestone 50th year

Saskatchewan’s biggest annual fundraiser reached a historic milestone this weekend, setting a new record and continuing a tradition that has helped thousands of residents access life-changing medical care.

TeleMiracle 50 raised a record-breaking $10,521,072 during its 50th anniversary telethon in Saskatoon, almost doubling last year’s total of $5,709,306.

The broadcast marked five decades of Saskatchewan people helping Saskatchewan people through the telethon, a theme organizers emphasized throughout the event.

Held at Prairieland Park, the 23-hour broadcast brought together volunteers, performers and donors from across the province. The show featured a wide lineup of Saskatchewan performers, returning hosts and special guests, celebrating both the telethon’s history and its ongoing impact on the province.

Funds raised through TeleMiracle help supports the Kinsmen Foundation, which provides residents equipment such as wheelchairs, communication devices and more, while also covering travel expenses for patients who must leave their community for specialized treatment.

Since it first began back in 1977, TeleMiracle has raised more than $171 million, helping thousands of residents across the province. The telethon is organized by volunteers from Kin Canada, with support from businesses, schools, and community groups across Saskatchewan.

The 50th anniversary broadcast also served as a celebration of the volunteers, donors, performers, and recipients who have helped shape TeleMiracle over the past five decades.
